A broken cup, the wheels of a toy, reading glass frames, a shelf, the base of a coffee machine… students at the Free University of Bolzano/Bozen collected broken and partial objects destined for the garbage bin, and with help of a 3D printer their goal is to give them new life in form of a reassembled, useful object. Led by Simone Simonelli (holding the green bowl), ‘Making Stories’ is a multidisciplinary project between the Faculty of Design and Art and the Faculty of Computer Science. In our next ACADEMIA issue, we’ll find out what happened to cup, tires, shelf & Co. Stay tuned!
